Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Posts and Departments can continue to be involved in Drug Awareness, Home/Internet Safety, and Child ID programs (these related booklets and fingerprinting brochures can be purchased through the VFW Store) and members of the safety community can continue to be honored by receiving VFW Recognition Certificates also offered through the VFW Store. Departments and Posts that continue to work these programs should appoint appropriate chairmen.  Post, District and Department Safety Chairmen can access the "Safety and Recognition Chairman's Manual" by visiting "My VFW.”  Simply visit this website  http://www.vfw.org/Login.aspx where you can LOG IN as a VFW member, then click on VFW TRAINING AND SUPPORT under the General Members Tools and Resources heading.  Then you click on COMMUNITY SERVICE, YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS AND ACTIVITIES. You will then look to the right hand side of that webpage, and there you will find the "Safety and Recognition” Chairman's Manual under CHAIRMAN'S MANUALS.  This manual will contain all information on the VFW Safety and Recognition programs, including the VFW Public Servant Recognition awards for EMTs, Firefighters and Police Officers.)
